Ashley Malone, LCMHCA
Counselor in Training

Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In Ashley's words "I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where individuals and couples can feel comfortable exploring their emotions and experiences."

With a foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I assist clients in understanding and embracing their feelings, even when they may seem intimidating. I have a particular interest in guiding clients through life transitions, whether it's navigating career changes, relationship challenges, or personal growth.

My approach is tailored to each individual's unique journey, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to create a customized experience that resonates deeply with you.  I have taken the level one clinical training in the Gottman Method for couples counseling and specialize in working with couples to strengthen communication, deepen connection, and overcome challenges together.

Through compassionate guidance and evidence-based techniques, I help couples cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships. My ultimate goal is to provide a supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, gain insight, and find empowerment in their lives. I hope to embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth together".

Sessions with Ashley are offered on a highly reduced sliding scale based on annual household income and size. Pro Bono sessions are offered as needed (based on availability).

Cynara McKinstry, LCMHC
Owner/Lead Therapist

For those that may be wondering (and because I’ve dealt with this question my entire life) my name is pronounced Cynara like “Panera”, no affiliation with the restaurant chain :-)

As the owner and lead therapist of a Black-owned business, I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all of my clients.  I have had the privilege of working with couples in every stage of their relationship (including premarital and those contemplating divorce), survivors of abuse and trauma, active military service members and veterans,  the LGBTQIA+ population, families of children with significant behavioral issues, and children with developmental disabilities to name a few.

I approach therapy with the understanding that a “once size fits all” approach is unrealistic and it simply does not lead to the best outcome for every client. I am passionate about holistic healing and I use my creativity to find the best treatment model to meet my client's needs, whether it is based in psychotherapy (such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or The Gottman Method) or based in somatic healing (such as yoga, breath-work, and other body-based interventions).

I believe that anyone can reach their full potential when given the right support and tools for change.  I will challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone and fully embrace the journey towards self-discovery.  Let's create a space where you can nurture your mind, body, and spirit, one session at a time. Join me on this transformative path towards wholeness and wellness.

" And you? When will you begin the long journey into yourself?"
